Mackenzie Hunter earned four All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) honors for the UWL basketball team, including three first team selections (2006, 2008, 2009). She was also a 2007 All-WIAC Honorable Mention choice. Hunter is one two players in school history to earn four all-conference honors, joining Elise DeNoyer (2005-18). Named the 2008-09 WIAC Player of the Year, Hunter led the league in scoring (20.6) while finishing second in steals (2.81), free throw shooting (88.0%) and three-point shooting (40.0%). She was also ninth in the conference in field goal shooting (46.0%).
Selected to the 2008-09 All-WIAC Defensive Team, Hunter was also named the 2008-09 WIAC Scholar-Athlete. She earned five career WIAC Player of the Week selections.
Hunter was a two-time All-America selection, being named to the 2008-09 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and 2008-09 D3hoops.com Honorable Mention All-America Teams. She was a 2008-09 D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region choice.
Starting 103 of 105 career games at UWL, Hunter finished second in school history in scoring (1,526 points). She is first in school history in free throw shooting (85.4%) and steals (224) while ranking second in starts (103) and free throws made (281).
Hunter earned a pair of degrees from UWL, including her bachelor's in sport management in 2009 and master's in human performance in 2011.
