Jim and Joe Hanson were the first twins inducted into the NAIA District 14 Athletic Hall of Fame, and hold that similar distinction at UW-L. Jim, a 1978 graduate and Joe, who earned degrees in 1977 and 1981, helped UW-L develop one of the finest cross country and track programs in the nation.
Joe won an unprecedented four WSUC cross country titles and finished sxth, 10th and 17th at NAIA finals. He also earned All-American honors in the mile run. Both brothers set UW-L and WSUC outdoor and indoor track records. During their five years here, their teams took 15 of 18 conference and/or District 14 titles in the two sports.
