Jim Howard helped UW-L men's gymnastics vault to three straight NAIA championships during his 11 years on campus. From 1966-1977, Howard's teams earned national championships in 1975, '76 and '77, compiling a 123-19 record and he was named NAIA coach of the year three times. He was head gymnastics coach for the '91 Pan American Games, and assistant coach for the '87 Pan Am Games and the '85 and '87 World Championship Teams.
