Gerald Michael Kollross
Athlete: 1980-1984


    Jerry Kollross was a standout swimmer for the university. During his four-year athletic career, he received 11 NAIA All-American and two NCAA All-American commendations. Kollross was named the team's most valuable swimmer in 1982 and '84, and Wisconsin State University Conference swimmer of the year his junior year.
    
    The marketing major set NAIA and conference records in both the 50 and 100 meter freestyle his senior year, along with leading off UW-L's freestyle relay team at nationals. Kollross kept afloat after college with the Madison Dolphins Swim Club and participated in Olympic trials in '84 and '88.
