Jeremy Martens

Jeremy Martens was a four-year letter winner for the track & field squad, becoming the first athlete in school history to earn eight NCAA Division III All-America honors in one event (long jump).  He earned four indoor All-America awards in the long jump, finishing third in 1992, fourth in 1990 and 1993 and fifth in 1991. Martens was also a four-time NCAA III All-America in the outdoor long jump, placing second in 1991, third in 1993, fourth in 1992 and eighth in 1990.

Along with his long jump accolades, Martens earned three All-America honors in the outdoor 4x100-meter relay for the Eagles.  He was a member of the second-place 4x100-meter relay in 1991 and third-place 4x100 in 1992 and 1993.

Martens won three career WIAC long jump crowns, taking first indoors in 1990 and 1991 and outdoors in 1991.  He still holds the conference record for the indoor long jump (25-3 1/4).  He was a member of UWL's league champion 4x200-meter relay at the 1992 and 1993 indoor meet and a member of the WIAC winning 4x100-meter relay at the 1991, 1992 and 1993 outdoor championships. 

He earned his bachelor's degree in physical education from UW-Platteville and master's of technology from Lesley University (Mass.).  Martens currently lives in Weyauwega, Wisconsin, and works as a physical education teacher in the School District of Waupaca.
