James Jeskewitz and football were a team before, during and since his playing days at La Crosse. Arriving with three football letters from Menomonee Falls High School, Jeskewitz collected four more with the Indians in 1958-61. During his senior year he was team co-captain, All-Conference and NAIA All-American defensive back. He also headed the Lettermen's Club and his fraternity in 1960-61. Jeskewitz taught at Bay Port High School in Green Bay from 1963-68.
    He earned a master's degree from Winona State in 1968 and returned home to Menomonee Falls where he teaches physical education and coaches. His coaching assignments include football, of course, and basketball and track. His football teams have claimed eight conference championships since 1972 and won the state Division A crown in 196 and the runner-up spot in 1985.
