James R. Ingold (1975-79)

James Ingold has finished every one of the 300 races he has started.  He gained speed for that accomplishment by running in cross country and track during college, following four years as a harrier at Monroe High School.

At UW-L, Ingold ran to three All-American honors and three conference championships, including two conference records in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000-meter run.  Ingold came within 12 seconds of qualifying for the Olympic Trials Marathon.

Ingold earned two degrees from the UW-L: a bachelor's degree in 1980 and a master's in 1988.  He was an assistant men's cross country and track coach at UW-L during the 1987-88 season.
