    John (Jack) Connaughton was Athlete of the Year at UW-La Crosse in 1968 and winner of the 1967 World Cup Bowling Tournament in Paris, France. In 1981 he finished fifth in the team event competition in the American Bowling Congress National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Bowling Hall of Fame in Memphis, Tenn..
  
      His many post-collegiate accomplishments include being inducted into the NAIA Bowling Hall of Fame in 1977, being a member of the Wisconsin Kegler All-Star Team, being the Sheboygan County Match Champion, being a member of the Wisconsin Match Mixed Doubles and Match Team Champions and being inducted into the Oconomowoc Hall of Fame.

    As an undergraduate at UW-L, Connaughton was a member of the NAIA National Championship teams in 1967 and in 1968.
