Athlete: 1947-1951
An exceptional blocker, Geaorge Sladky inspired the 1950 football conference champions at La Crosse State. Sladky led the field in track also, setting a conference record in the javelin event. In his first season of varsity basketball, Sladky was instrumental in his team's conference championship.
Considered by most to be one of the University's greatest all-around athletes, Sladky crowned his extraordinary accomplishments with his performance in the 1951 Cigar Bowl championship game.
