Carol Howard Cox
Athlete: 1977-1982
Carol Howard Cox ran away with a national championship, conference titles and All-American honors during college from 1977-1982. She began that run on the cross country team, running with the harriers from 1977-1980. She joined the indoor and outdoor track teams in 1979, running with them through the 1982 season. Cox was the conference champion in the indoor 1000-meter four times, as well as the outdoor 800-meter four times. In 1982, she was the national champion in the outdoor 800-meter and was captain of the team that won the AIAW national title. The five time All-American taught and coached with the Waterford East Troy school districts from 1982-1987 She was an assistant track coach at UW-Whitewater form 1985-87.
