Byron Buelow has carried his success on the football field into the classroom. The 1973 physical education major was four-time letter winner in football from 1969-1972. He took Wisconsin State University Conference and NAIA District 14 honors his junior and senior years. He also received NAIA All-American honorable mention those years.
Beulow continued on the gridirion in the Pulaski School District where he began coaching and teaching physical education in 1973. He has been assistant football coach there since, but served as head coach from 1978-1980. During those three years, his teams compiled 20-9 record and placed second in the state finals in 1980. He has also been assistant basketball coach since 1974 and was freshman baseball coach from 1974-1978. Beulow's success doesn't end on the field. The Wisconsin Rapids native returned to UW-L for graduate studies and earned a Master's of Science in 1981. He was named 1988-89 Teacher of the Year at Pulaski High School.
