Athlete: 1982-1986

    Bret Corner is one of UW-La Crosse's most successful wrestlers. He grappled for NAIA All-American honors three times and completed his collegiate competition at 111-21-1, both university records. At 142 pounds, he was runner-up at nationals in 1986, placed fifth in 1985, and 6th in 1984. Corner was named UW-L Most Valuable Wrestler in 1984, 1985, and 1986. Head Coach Alan Freeman changed the name of the title to Corner Award in 1986.
    Corner founded and became head wrestling coach at Concordia University of Wisconsin in Mequon in 1991. The team won conference titles from 1995-1997.
